The Mathews Women’s Giving Circle is a group of over 50 like-minded, purpose-driven women who share a common interest in supporting the needs of the Mathews County community through philanthropy and collective giving.

The mission of the Mathews Women’s Giving Circle is to support the well being of women and families in Mathews County through annual grant awards. In addition to our annual grant making, we educate members about community issues and the nonprofits that are addressing the issues most effectively. Our annual Speaker’s Series includes a roster of community leaders who address and inform our membership on the state of our County.

The Mathews Women’s Giving Circle is hosted by the Mathews Community Foundation, which makes it possible for member contributions to tax deductible.

In less than 10 years the MWGC has awarded over $230,000 to 25 grants in our community. Together, we can make a lasting impact.

Who We Are

What is a Giving Circle?

The Mathews Women’s Giving Circle is rooted in generosity, connection, and the belief that meaningful change happens when women come together. As a member, you’ll join a passionate community dedicated to creating lasting impact through thoughtful, collective philanthropy.

A giving circle transforms individual generosity into lasting community impact. By pooling our resources, we learn together, share perspectives, and collectively decide where our grants can make the greatest difference. Together, we invest in nonprofits and initiatives that empower women, strengthen families, and build a brighter future for Mathews County. Every voice matters, every gift has purpose, and every member plays a role in the legacy we create for generations to come.
